Actions Just as the Mermaid Parade is finishing we spot a mermaid with a red headdress (1). She is talking to another mermaid in blue (2, 3) as we approach from behind (4). The shells mermaid gets her picture taken with a fan (5), and poses for a photographer (6) and for us (7, 8). And what details: Red wig (9), headdress (10), beads galore (11, 12), shell pasties (13, 14) with swinging bead dangles (15, 16), beads around the waist and a pierced belly button (17, 18), a single shell atop a critical spot (19), also with dangles (20), a shell (21) and dangles in the posterior rugage (22), and shoes (23, 24)! When the mermaid dances in the street all the clams are put to the test (25). Commentary Pasties adorn many, many mermaids this year. And shells and pearls are definitely a nautical theme.
