The Underwear Relationship Underwear presents a challenge to the bikini scientist for several reasons, detailed in this section. Underwear as a Beach Costume Obviously, in terms of exposure, underwear, such as a bra and panties, exposes no more of the body, and often less, then a skimpy bikini, and it often shares a similar, if not identical, silhouette (RV7922-23). So is or is not underwear a proper beach attire? It isn't necessarily more revealing, but its purpose is different. Underwear is not supposed to be seen and when it is it is a rare observation (EC98BS). Sometimes it is a costume for private pools (HBC030BS), or public parks where women just want to catch some sun (BA7310, CP8705). Men's undershirts can be particularly sexy, because they combine coverage with cleavage cote, lack of support, and semi-see-through (CI9270). Underwear can also misbehave in the water (ES7402). Underwear is also worn in lieu of bikinis at festivals, parades, and campsites. This lady is very comfortable in her bra and panties at Burning Man (FFA992). Closely allied to the question of underwear worn as a beach costume is the role of underwear in changing into and out of bikinis, or in some cases a midpoint between being dressed and being topless. This interesting behavior depicts a subject who would prefer to remove her bra under her shirt, rather than remove her shirt over her bra, despite the fact that her end point is topless (SM8814). It shouldn't matter, but it does. Underwear and Clothes The wearing of underwear which is visible in combination with street clothes in general also yields insights into human nature. This genre includes underwear visible underneath clothes, and parts of underwear which are deliberately or carelessly visible, such as bra straps, waistbands, and the like. Because this subject is tangential to bikini science it is only introduced as a subject, not discussed in detail. There are many flavors of these exposures, such as this subject who deliberately shows the back of her bra and her shoulder strap (OF9002). In the late 1990s these kind of exposures, which in earlier decades were considered vulgar, become fashion. |
