Life in the Qasr al-Amra Baths

Qasr al-Amra, Rome, Italy
c. 500 BC BB500BC7

Costume
Nude with towels. One woman wears a necklace.

   Male: TMLC.
   Females: TMLBAP.

Actions
A wall painting from the west wall of the main hall depicts a bather adjacent to a tub at the palace (1).
A wall painting from the east wall of the north side room shows three nude women and a child in a steam sauna; one of the women is about to poar water on coals (2).
Two nude women talk and a child rests in a below-the-floor-supplied steam bath in a painting from the south side room wall (3). One of the women may be pregnant.

Commentary
Note the pagan and historic backgrounds in these paintings. But also note that the paintings also tend to be acurate visualizations of the actual event (e.g., sitting in the steam bath.)
