Beach, Paris c. 1925 VG0095_2663 Costume Maillot lattice-side. Headscarf, shoes, blanket. TML Actions This comely pinup lays her towel down, uncovering in the process her bare side (1). She gives a coy look to the right of the camera, blocking much of her side exposure with her arm (2); the same picture but hand-tinted in a different color (3). Now she puts her hand on her cheek and looks us in the eye, the bare side fully visible to us (4). Commentary A couple of notes here: Compare the nature of the lattice-side on this swimsuit to an earlier laced up design (PC0E60). And also note how the lattice motif is repeated in the shoulder straps. One also notes that most PC Paris girls model not only swimsuits but full nudes, so even though this model may be wearing a more extreme maillot, this might be among her more covered-up postcard sets.
