Hollywood, California 1928 LB2810 Costume Halter and shorts with dangling cloth. Flower in hair. TML. N-3. Bellage. Armpit. Bare feet. Actions Louise Brooks rises up on her toes next to a shadow of a giant wheel (1). Commentary Brooks is no stranger to nudity, having danced nude for George White's Scandals in 1922 and then modeling nude for Alfred Cheney Johnston while working as a feature dancer for the Ziegfeld Follies in 1925 (LB2514). She signs a contract with Paramount that same year and begins a career in the movies. This image, featuring what today we would call a bikini cut, is believed to be from her Paramount movie days.
