Faux landscape, Paris c. 1907 GC0L1186 Costume Topless and draped skirt. Heels, Hat, necklace, bracelet. TMB. N-3. Rouged nipples. Actions Belly dancer Nina Barkis reclines in a faux landscape (1) Commentary Tallulah's suggest this is an "early Nina Barkis, who is famous for her early bodysuit nudes" (PC0HB0). If indeed Barkis is actually topless here is this before the bodysuit nudes? Or is it perhaps after, and she shed the stocking? Or is this picture actually a bodysuit nude, with her nipples erect and her rouge in the hand tint? What about the belly button? Source Hand tinted postcard, G.G. Co. [GG Co.], Germany, Serie1186/5 [possibly 1188/5, 1168/5, 1166/5 or similar], date is estimated to be 1905-1910, although tallulah's estimates 1903-04. Other GG Co. of Nina Barkis include her Salome character. Source: tallulahs.com. 1 picture. |
