Mata Hari Danse Indienne

Paris
le. 1907 MH190710

Costume
Fringe bra and long sarong skirt dance outfit; headdress, armbands, bracelets, drape.

   TM. N-6. Bellage. Armpits.

Actions
This famous set of pictures by Boyer document Mata Hari's "Danse Indienne" costume (1), part of her signature performance (2). Especially notable is the very daring display of belly (3, 4) and a series of dance moves (5, 6, 7, 8). Because the cards are hand-colored costume colors are not consistent.
Three similar images, also signed by Boyer but bearing a different series numbers (500 and 1380) and publisher mark (SP), appears to be from the same session (9, 10, 11).

Commentary
It is impossible for the Bikini Scientist to not appreciate the sophistication of the waistline in the context of the evolution of waistline during the evolution of the v-kini in the 1980s. History repeats itself.
