Marilyn Monroe Halter and Sheath

Racket Club Pool, Palm Springs, CA
Summer 1947 MM4701

Costume
Blue-gray halter and sheath deux-pièces. Thick soled clogs.

   TML. Cleavage.

Actions
Marilyn sits on a diving board and squints. She looks slightly to the right of the camera, ankle up on one knee (1). Now she lies on her belly in a rare color shot that shows cleavage below her tan line and a little bit of her swimsuit lining (2).

Commentary
Writes Nicki Giles, "After being fired by Twentieth-Century Fox in 1947 Marilyn went back to modeling."
But compared to the French, Marilyn's costumes are timid. The top and bottom are both big and bulky. Less than 4" of midriff is exposed. There is no belly button and this is not a bikini.
