Actions Sally is a trendy fashionite who actually owns a Norma Kamali and has worn during a trip to the Islands. She knows it is hot and poses on a stool (1). She leans back and stretches (2). The top is a constructed front-gather bandeau (3) and the culotte has a gathered center seam (4). She leans forward with her heel in her crotch (5), lifts her legs apart (6), and shows how the backside is molded to her buttocks (7). Commentary Designer Norma Kamali has a strong sense of foundation, and she combines it with an equally strong sense of the dynamics and risk of bikini. The bandeau--itself an innovation in 1983--incorporates a lot of pucker and tuck, and the briefs--already a clearly defined v-kini silhouette--incorporates vertical seams in the front and back to tighten the look. The top risks nippage and the bottoms buttage. Kamali and the bikiniite understand this control.
