Studio, America May 1979 E79P77 Costume Halter string strapped side string high-legline maillot sarong. High heels. TL or TML depending on how the judge calls the sides. Cleavage. Inguinal. Armpit. Actions Lisa sits on her knees, pulls her hair to the side, smiles, and looks us in the eye (1). Commentary This swimsuit represents the cross between the string bikini and maillot, and is maillot coulisse, or string maillot. Note how the strings at the waistline front loop through the back. The string work ties it to the 1970s, but the high legline is ahead of its time. Strictly speaking this is not a maillot sarong, because the garment is sewn at the sides, whereas a sarong would tie in the front.
