Rome, Italy 1969 SY6910 Costume Metal cutout bra and waistband skirt. Body decorations on belly. Headdress. TMLB. N-5. Navelage. Actions The late 1960s waistline is reflected in this dance costume from an Italian Fellini epic that also combines a bra that bears the breasts and belly decoration that encircles the navel (1). Commentary Bikini Sciences indulges itself in the study of closely related costumes of burlesque, the harem, the dance hall, and the silver screen. Fellini's mixture of past and present excess provide any needed excuse for this brazen display, but as a Bikini Scientist we are forced to observe the influence of the very low waistline, the encircled nipples, and the patterns on the belly that radiate from the navel.
