On board ship c.1968 JB6810 Costume Chest string halter and nombril. This is also sometimes called a half-string halter. TML. Cleavage. N-4. Actions Jacqueline washes her hands under the deck shower aboard a ship (1). Commentary This is a very typical late 1960s silhouette. Note that the soutien-gorge is a halter, not a bra, and that although the band around the chest has become a string that passes through casings on adjustable cups, that the cups themself extend up to and around the neck. In other words, there is no neck string. The culotte still has wide sides, and rides below the navel with a relatively horizontal waistline; it predates the string brief.
