Carol Doda Maillot Topless Dancer

Condor Club, San Francisco
le. April 1965 CD6540

Costume
Rudi Gernreich [?] black t-front topless maillot tanga.

   TLBA. Inguinal. [Trimmed.]

Actions
Pictures of Carol Doda dancing in a topless maillot t-front. This is from her post-inflation phase; the side (1), side (2), front (3), above (4).
Playboy writes history, and says that Doda is "very much in the swim of things," and is "one of the very first swim girls to don designer Rudi Gernreich's topless bathing suit."

Commentary
Playboy suggests that it is Rudi Gernreich's topless maillot (a swimsuit), which enables the go-go swim dancers to go topless. The end of the trajectory are the likes of the The Condor Club, which is said to become the first topless bar. As discussed, this maillot has differences from the Gernreich design, and also from the topless maillot worn in the official slide set (CD6470).
Playboy magazine from this period is timeless glamour and will feature the topless maillot later this year in an underwater reprise (PB6505)
