Dance hall, America c. 1955 JY5510 Costume Stage halter and nombril, with half-cape. Navel star pasty. Boa constrictor snake. TML. N-2. Armpits. Navelage. Actions An erotic dancer holds up her pet in an obscure American film (1). Commentary Belly button censures are an American obsession both before the Bikini Atoll event as well as afterwards. Here a star seeks to obscure, and of course at the same time, highlight our birth scar. The snake has long been a stable of the burlesque star, and is a complicated sexual symbol that goes back to the Eve myth. Source Still from the film, Ocean II, date is estimation and could be earlier, in Lo Duca and Maurice Bessy, L'erotisme au Cinema, Filmarchives, Paris, 1977, p. I-31. 1 picture. |
