James Kirkwood Presides Over a Naked Harem

Hollywood depicts Rome
1921 KR2110

Costume
Eight females wear necklaces, bracelets, armlets, anklets, hairpieces, but are otherwise nude.

   TMLBA. Armpits.

Actions
The Emperor Constantine holds court over a côtérie of adorning and naked subjects (1). Constantine rules the Roman Empire from 306-337 and is instrumental in the advancement of Christianity.

Commentary
The historical and Biblical epic is one excuse for Hollywood to display nudity; another is that old standby, the painter in his art studio (RV2150).
