Commentary As the late 1910s progress the legline rises--here is only inches below the crotch--and the hose descend--here they are rolled down. But aside from showing a lot of leg Ms. 590 has a costume complete with hat, hose and shoes. Note the gathers at the side of the leg and not that this maillot is also unusual in that it is neither sleeveless nor shortsleeved, but has shoulder straps.
