Beach, France 1885 E188501 Costume She wears a bathing dress sleeveless middie bloomered, with shoes, hat. He wears a shirt, jacket and tie, pants, shoes, hat and carries a camera. She: Face and arms. Calf and partial foot? He: None. Actions A photographer takes a picture of a swimsuit woman, one of many no doubt (1). Commentary "Objectif no. 1: seduire," observes Elle. For 1885 this is a rather risqué pinup. The sleeveless blouse and bloomers are only partly ahead of their time, but the probably bare ankles are a sin.
